BioSo, I'm a bit of a wandering gypsy at the moment. I am finally employed, making okay money and working on my Master's in Counseling. I live with my grandparents an hour and a half from school and all of my friends, so I stare at my computer screen or read all night. I enjoy being outside wakeboarding, playing tennis, hiking, sleeping, whatever. At the moment, I'm fairly boring.
I like:
- really angry music. Right now, my favorite band is Hurt, but I like Slipknot, AFI, Apocalyptia, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Flyleaf, MCR, Killswitch Engage, Pantera, Tool, Egypt Central. I've recently become obsessed (again) with The White Stripes. Jack White is a genius. I like my music loud and pissed off.
- to read. I will read just about any fiction. In particular, I like the classics. Wuthering Heights, Crime and Punishment, Anna Karenina, Candide, The Brothers Karamazov, The Canterbury Tales, Pride and Prejudice, The Odyssey, The Three Muskateers, Heart of Darkness, Les Miserables, Ivanhoe, The Jungle, War and Peace, Vanity Fair.... to name a few. I also read a lot of fiction. The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Wicked, Watership Down. I've recently read all of the Twilight books. At first I liked them as an easy read, but them they became very funny in their absurdity. If Midnight Sun ever comes out though, I will buy it like a little fangirl though.
- to watch sci-fi and fantasy movies. Don't know why. Serenity, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (Gary Oldman!!!!) I like swords and lasers and space ships. I'm a nerd, what can I say?
- to draw. I began college as an art major. I love charcoal, and ink, but I also like to paint. I've decided that college has killed all of my creativity, so I haven't done anything substantial recently.
- to write. I used to love to write fiction, but now all I get to write is clinical papers. Damn you APA format. (Shakes an angry fist)
- to read celeb blogs. Don't know why since I don't watch TV, but I love it.
I don't like:
- People that don't do anything with their lives, and yet want assistance. If you have a legitimate reason to be unemployed, that's fine. If you're sitting on your ass because you're lazy, fuck off. I worked at a grocery through high school and my undergrad studies, so I have no sympathy whatsoever.
Anyway, I am an insomniac that alternates reading and working out as the hours go by. I have two more years left for my Masters and then three more for my PhD. All of my friends from school are graduating and moving away, so I am left with my dog, books and MacBook. Oh the life of a gypsy.
